As the Zimbabwean Electoral Commission announces results of the presidential and parliamentary elections held on Monday, violent protest breaks out on the street of Harare.
According to the results released so far, the ruling ZANU PF has gained more seats in the Zimbabwean parliament. Law enforcement officers are using tear gas, stun grenades and water canons to deter the protesters.
International electoral observers confirms that the voting process was free and fair but accused the Zimbabwean state media of bias.
It is perceived by the opposition that the votes were rigged according to the main opposition leader of the MDC alliance and presidential aspirant Nelson Chamisa who announced on his Twitter feed that he has won the popular vote..
