South Africa records forty-four new coronavirus related deaths with twenty-five in the Western Cape, seven in Gauteng, six each in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape bringing the number of fatalities in the country to nine hundred and fifty-two.
Compared to the global average mortality rate of 6%, South Africa is doing better with a mortality rate of just 2% with the Western Cape accounting for 77% of all deaths.
